Projects

It's a great time of year for long hours out in the garden. Whether you are out in the fog of the morning watching it slowly lift past the trees and dissolve into sun or enjoying the long golden light of the afternoon september is a beautiful month in the Pacific Northwest.
It is also a great time to plan new projects or if you are like me start on a few that were on your summer list.
This September has had the second most rain fall ever recorded for our area! Inbetween those days you may want to take care of your garden for winter. New pathways, patios, walls, putting down wood chips or gravel on your pathways. All of these will make your garden so much easier to experience in the fall.
You can also use this time to shop for your favorite fall color plants. Visit nurseries, parks, botanic gardens and right down names or buy plants.
Planting in the fall gives your trees/shrubs some time to acclimate before the soil gets too cold. So come spring they have a good "footing" to grow.
