Fall pause?

Yes, it's been a long time!
I have managed to stay busy throughout this spring and summer. Yeah! Now that Fall seems to be setting in comfortably I long for afternoons working in gardens. Early morning fog and crisp air. We haven't been getting that yet however it's just around the corner. The last couple of days have been fantastic. Slow to start and then working up to the most pleasant 70 degree and sun filled afternoons.
Now is when gardens pause. They have been for a little while already but if you touch it now it will all fall apart. Sedums growing into asters, ornamental grasses falling onto lavender. It is okay to do a little bit of work but it's best to keep it to nipping and tucking so you don't disturb the displays that your garden has been working up to all summer, layer upon layer.
It is a beautiful time in the Pacific Northwest and even better if you manage to spend some long hours outside.
